Have a great day everyone, and to those who were chatting in chat about quitting smoking, may this be a smoke free day for you!
Today I will not smoke! :) (and not let the crazy's at work get to me lol) Raising a cup of coffee to you! :wine:

No worries, Ive had 40 years of "i smoked" days. One day, sometimes one hour at a time. Hope today is a better day for you all around, smoke or no smoke!

Maybe this will help anyone that is wanting to quit
I was a 4 to 5 pack a day smoker. My fingers had started to turn green from the nicotine stains
I have tried all of the methods .At one time I was chewing the gum, wearing the patch on each arm, and still smoking 4 packs a day
I tried the candy bit, even tried putting them in another room or out of reach
This is how my Dad a 3 to 4 pack a day smoker stopped, my uncle that was a 2 to 3 day a pack and myself
The method was two fold

First made YOURSELF a challenge that you will not light your first one until you have been up 15 minutes in the morning
once you are able to do that with no problem, go to 30 minutes, after doing that go to to 45 and then an hour
After that go to 1 1/2 hours and increased the time in 1/2 hour increments and from that to 1 hour increments and then 2 and add a 1/2 hour at a time.
It is not long till you are going all day without one .Once you can make a day or even a half day is when the second method takes over
Take straws and cut them the same length of your cigarettes, put 20 of them in a empty pack. When you need to smoke, take a straw out and put it in your mouth and hold it like a cigarette don't chew or bite on it ,take it out and hold it in your hand as you would a real one then back in and suck and puff on it
This worked for me and I had quit in a short time
The wife did it in 2 but she was a 1 to 2 pack a day
If you cheat start where you cheated at
Do not eat candy or gum with sugar in it that only aids the agony of stopping
Last change habits of when you smoke such as
You smoke right after a meal put it off for a bit, or change eating times
If you open a beer and light one up hold off till that first beer is finished
If you light us when you walk out the door in the morning wait a bit longer
Good luck to each and everyone that is trying to stop
LAST AND I SAY THIS VERY LOUD NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER FORGET AND ACTUALLY LIGHT THAQT DAMN STRAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this Doc! Congratulations! I like your idea. Im weaning myself off ecigs now...can go a day or two without them so I think ill just revert to using dead ecigs and use them like your straws. I often find myself taking quick hits of air like I was smoking when im in situations where I used to smoke, like driving, playing online games, having morning coffee. This helps. I also continue to take this one day at a time, I just say today I choose not to smoke.
