Remembance/Veterans Day

A year or so ago , I was in a restaurant with the wife eating.
Two small children maybe 6 or 7, walked up to our table and handed me a card
I thought it was a religious or charity type card
All they said was "Thank You'
I said your welcome and laid the card one side
They walked away and out the door they went
I thought it odd they just left ,so I picked up the card
it was a gift card to pay for the wife and myself
Inside was scribbled the words
Thanking a Veteran

Gawd Almichty! At my age and experience, it takes a lot to choke me up.
At least there is some hope in this world.
