Todd, We share some things in common, I noticed from your post. I too live in an area of a (an extremely) hot summer, expecting flash floods when it does rain even a day and when El Nino hits this year we are a flood zone. Big time. Thus far no hurricanes..yet, but we had snow for first time this past new years eve summer heat started Showing up in April. We are West Mojave area...106 on many many days.. Ugh! I do have a garden but we have a drought so I cannot water it, oh and fire season is upon us. The close proximity of last years fires has placed me virtually down hill from the burn area. Tons of lightening in our last storm. ...hence the flash flood warnings. being down his from the burn is only half of it...
I live next to the lake so i have it from two directions potentially. On top of that , I have a bad back, it makes me feel old, and when i need or want to get some things done, I usually get over heated, or my back starts burning and this whole unpleasant pain cycle starts up. it causes me to be unable to do things my mind wants me to do!!! I HAVE HAD many of my favorite treasures etc, ruined by being stuck outside in the weather with no where to move them, and a back that limited me as to what I could actualluy do. I lived in one room walls lined with boxes to rescue a few my things which were dumped in driveway intentionally knowing I had nothing I could do about it...So that worry you mentioned is a very deep one.<yawn sorry to tell my tale of woe> Moving on, a nice thing ,is that I actually had a little luck a few months back but it was a fluke I am pretty sure but it was luck none the less. I do not play much at all, these days. but I have been there before. seems like i get stuck in a no win warp!!.
Anyway , for me, it always feels like a let down when a birthday is in the middle of money stress time or having nothing fun to do My birthday has always been sensitive area for me, it is always uneventful. I try to be traveling on it, when I can afford it... ugh... so I guess I will be staying home again this year haha.
