I was having a rough day and did not realize I had put this not only under a different post but the pic did not show up either
I think days like this still need to be told to our children and even wonder why it is not given more recognition
I think this day slipped up on Phil (mistyshade) as well. He normally does the honors

June 6 1944 D DAY the price of freedom

Almost Forgotten

Hello Doc, my apologies for not posting but I have been trying to find out some info on my father.
My father was there. Not in that pic, but out at sea in command of a Royal Navy submarine protecting the East flank from incursion by E-Boats striking down from the Baltic Sea and getting in amongst all those landing-craft and ships.
Not having seen my dad for many years (he walked out when I was 13) it appears he surfaced in Cincinatti and worked at the US Navy submarine yards there and died in 1981.
I have been trying to find out if he had another family and where he might be buried. If anyone can point me in the right direction to find any info on a website etc. I would be very grateful.

Phil.
