Thinking of going

Thinking of going again to the only real casino in the country here. It's always a lot of fun to go there. They always got a special "weekend corner" in the well..... weekend. Specially for people who are just out with some friends, all 1 Euro betting tables like blackjack, roulette etc. I am from the Netherlands so some might already know what casino I am talking about (although I am not sure if I am allowed to name it actually).

Well Im from the USA so I looked up "casinos" Netherlands and it came up with "Holland Casinos". Wow , they have a monopoly on them lol! Also read online gambling was opened up in 2015 in the Netherlands, awesome! Good luck and play a few games of blackjack for me ok? Let us know how you did, maybe take a few pictures and post em!

Yes that is correct, there are other casino's here which have a license for slots for instance. But only Holland Casino got a license to be a "fully equipped" casino. This does mean they have a monopoly in it I guess, but the concept of a casino is a bit different then in the US (from what I heard). You actually do pay an entrance fee (usually accompanied with a free drink), there are clothing requirements (so they will refuse you acces when you try to get in in shorts for instance). They actually register how often you visit the casino as well (part of the law as well), so if you visit them to often in a short time period they refuse you entrance as well, to avoid feeding gambling addiction.
So the monopoly isn't being exploited I guess, for us the casino is just a night out every so often, like with the weekend club thing I mentioned :)

Huh! Didnt know that, thanks for posting the info. Ya our casinos are pretty much walk in as you are lol, I havent been to any casinos with a dress code yet lol... vegas in the evening maybe and some of our casinos around here seem to have better dressed people when the entertainment is in operation. Interesting regarding keeping tabs on your comings and goings though..think that is great if you have voluntarily self excluded, it would be a deterrent from going but dont like the idea of privacy being invaded like that, because one dosnt always go to a casino to gamble (for me its food, love me a good buffet lol) Anyway...did you go?

So what are the experiences you guys have with the land based casino's in your area? I know the nature and setup of the casino's are just different but I am assuming in the end it's usually about fun :). So let's share those experiences :D

The experience is very different when you're there. The fun is doubled, really feel the excitement and you have to heighten up your senses. If you're planning on going, go by yourself. In my experience, my friends were pestering me all the time.

Lol @ADA that is so true, I used to enjoy going with my friend but now only if we are planning on brunch. Now a days if I win within the 1st hour I will make myself go home with the win. I've only been able to do this when on my own, with my friend, we have to stay and I will play it down. I try and put the original amount back into my pocket and just play my winnings. 9 times out of ten if I am winning she is losing. And vise versa...I don't much like the current slots so I don't go much, and that is a good thing lol. The"fun" scene in the evening is non existent in our casinos in my opinion. Much better to go to Vegas now lol. I do love the Wizard of Oz series slots.

going to our casinos

going to our casinos

We have a couple of favorites and the wife and I go it alone as well
We have gone with friends and family but they can't hang as long as we can
Here lately we have seen even our favorites not being so fun
People playing machines at minimum and not even playing all lines
This along with the new machines being set as tight as they can be ,leads to a short evening
We noticed about a year and a half ago that it took more money for same play time
Today it is really hard to sustain any play at all
A couple of casinos that use to be packed on a Fri and Sat night are now so empty ,you can drive up to the front door
Planning a drive down to Eagle Pass to the Kickapoo Casino for our 48th wedding anniversary
that is if they will give us a room for the night
For sure you have to play more conservative now than in the past

what is the difference

what is the difference

What are the difference between the casino's in Netherlands and USA?[/QUOTE]

Honestly I do not know as I have never beento the Netherelands
In way of machines it would dependon where they purchase them from
If like the ones made in Japan or China , then that would be a big difference
as the machines in the USA do not look or work the same
such as being able to stop each reel ,the designs on the machines are for better in design I think
Maybe someone will answer that have been to both
